I am a Spiritual Director certified by the Spiritual Direction Training Program of Kairos School of Spiritual Formation. I am a member of Pilgrims Mennonite Church which is a congregation of Mennonite Church USA. While my practice is not limited, I have experience with directing families who experience the dynamics of children with disabilities and of adults with chronic illness. I am a member of Spiritual Directors International and follow their Guidelines for Ethical Conduct. I have experience with speaking engagements and leading spiritual formation retreats.
To nurture and enhance my ministry I meet regularly with my own Director. I meet regularly with a Spiritual Direction Supervisor. I also engage in enrichment activities including continued reading and professional input, regular worship, spiritual practices and retreats.
I have a BA in English – communications and journalism from Eastern Mennonite College (now Eastern Mennonite University) and am a freelance writer.
In my free time I enjoy reading, knitting and other fiber arts as well as experimenting with different art mediums. I enjoy the outdoors, especially watching birds. I also enjoy playing with my dog, Princess Pekoe.
I am married and have a grown son. In my own journey I have needed to navigate raising a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder while deeply believing that everyone is created in the image of God. This naturally came with its own challenges. I also experience chronic disease and disability. I believe these experiences enhance and inform my direction. I also believe that everyone’s experience is different and seek to hear your experiences and faith journey without imposing my journey and understandings on you.
I find deep meaning in learning from the life, experiences and spiritual insights of those I meet.
